Assignment Brief

You have won Arts Council funding to set up an independent film production company to take on projects from local, independent film makers and help them realize their ideas. You want to gather fresh new ideas from up-and-coming film makers for their short fiction films across all genres. As a member of the creative team, you have been asked to produce a short narrative film or film extract. 

The film (or film extract) will be shown during the upcoming 'film genre season' and so you should utilise recognisable generic codes and conventions within your production, either typically or by subverting them. It will be your responsibility to create and gather the necessary material for the production and to prepare and direct the cast and crew. You must undertake planning, pre-production and storyboarding for the production and maintain a professional portfolio of evidence.

 In order to create a successful outcome, you will be required to maintain a professional and organised approach throughout the production. You will be expected to manage a range of elements during filming, such as camera, lighting and sound, which will require refinement through suitable post-production techniques to produce a distinctive fictional film, creative in its use of generic codes and conventions
